The Town of Kingfield operates on a Fiscal Year. When taxes are committed in mid August it covers July 1 through the following June 30th. Taxpayers can expect to receive a bill the end of August.

Mil rate   18.0    (0.0180)  Covers July 1st, 2023 – June 30th, 2024

  • 1st Stub – Due upon receipt (08/22/2023)
    • 2% Discount –10/07/2023 Interest begins 11/13/2023
  • 2nd Stub – Due 01/05/2024
    • 2% Discount – 02/19/2024 Interest begins 04/15/2024

Maine’s Property Tax Deferral Program may help!

April 1 is the deadline for applying to Maine’s State Property Tax Deferral Program!

Those age 65 and older and/or permanently disabled, earning less than $40k/year, may qualify. Must have liquid assets below $50k ($75k if applying jointly).

This is part of Governor Mills’ Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan, helping Mainer’s age safely and securely in their own homes. Applications are available  BELOW or at the Kingfield Town Office.  Applications must be sent by April 1 to the Town Assessor, where information regarding your residence is verified.  Applications are forwarded to Maine Revenue Services. Maine Revenue Services determines eligibility for the Property Tax Deferral Program.
